Mr. Colton Powell

received the A.E. McLain Outstanding Young Band Director Award


 This award is only give to one band director in the state who produces consistent positive results, and has a genuine concern for and desire to further the musical education to their students.

Mrs. Kathy Smith

received the Teacher of the Year Award



"I've dedicated myself to education for 34 years, teaching thousands of students across 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. I am currently PJHS’s librarian. Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to collaborate with and learn from incredible educators and students who have inspired me to give my best every day. I firmly believe that strong relationships are the cornerstone of success in education. My journey as an educator has been most fulfilling."

Mr. Gerrell Keaton

received the award for District Coach of the Year.



Keaton is a coach for PJHS football and track/cross country. He teaches 7th grade math.
